Da die Inschrift nur aus einem Wort ( pala ) und ansonsten numerischen Symbolen besteht, kann keine Angabe zur Sprache gemacht werden "we may, however, remember that Sanskrit had already gained importance as the language of inscriptions during this period though Kannaḍa was also gaining importance as an inscriptional language ..." (Ed. S. 5).

Diese einzeilige Inschrift ist bisher der einzige epigrafische Fund, der auf der Insel gemacht wurde (Ed. S. 5, Fn. 2: "The loose boulder was located in the island in the beginning of the year 1987 and was brought to the office of the Conservation Assistant, A.S.I., where it is kept presently.")
"It is also interesting to note that the record indicates the weight of the stone, which was used for weighing grains and other such commodities." (Ed. S. 4)
Der Stein könnte als Gewicht "1375 pala" benutzt worden sein [Ed. S. 5: " ... its weight will be equal to 55 (fifty-five kilograms)."].
